My first time tasted Okonomiyaki was in a colleague's house (i think about 20 years ago). I saw he prepared by adding flour, egg, cabbage & etc, and i was caught by the brown sauce (now i know this sauce is Okonomi sauce) that he was topped on the pancake..it was too yummy..
Nowadays we easily found Okonomiyaki in pasar malam (night market). The pasar malam at my place (The longest pasar malam in Malaysia) also selling this Okonomiyaki..
I have almost forgot to post Tian Zi Fang 田子坊 where i visited last year in Shanghai. Yi or Red Hong suggested me to visit this place ( Terri's daughter and now she is very famous with her Art creation e.g one of her latest creation is using socks to create 张艺谋 Zhang Yimou's portrait)
This area also called as Art Street, a series of alleyways that were previously old Shanghai houses, and have now been converted into boutique shops, antique shops and restaurants with great variety of cuisines. Many of the boutiquie shops are managed by the local artisans to offer drawings and unique creations for sale. No wonder Yi suggested me this place because she love arts! I consider this a must-do in Shanghai.
When i saw few oranges sitting on my island top, then i remembered Helena baked this Orange Cocoa chiffon. Later when i browsing through My Kitchen Snippets and i found her beautiful Rainbow chiffon..So i decided to combine these two recipes into this Rainbow Chiffon Cake.
I have to quickly post all the photos for my recent trip to Melbourne since my memory still fresh. I just realized that i still have many photos for my trip to Shanghai and Penang have yet to update..because lacking of time..Before i go to Melbourne, i saw Honey Bee Sweet posted her trip to Melbourne and she highly recommended me to visit Queen Victoria market..As a food blogger, i like to visit market more than those departmental store nowadays ^_^
This is a must-visit place in Melbourne, so many things to see and so many foods to eat!!
I purposely bought a bottle of Marmite to cook this dish...Chicken Marmite is a very common dish when you take meal at Chinese restaurant. In order to use up this bottle, i am planning to cook this marmite with pork, prawn and crab which are very common serve in Chinese restaurant too.
I bought a 12 friand moulds from Melbourne ( there was 30% discount otherwise i will not buy due to high conversion ^_^) and have been searching for a recipe to try out this new mould. I saw this simple carrot cake in Tanja's blog and i immediately tried out using this new mould.
Last week I was contacted by Ms Kiersten from Edelman company to see if I'm interested to join a soft launch by Lipton for their latest creation..I was glad to accept the invitation since Lipton tea is one of our family's favourite drink. That was also my first time attending a food review.
I had baguette for breakfast at the same cafe for 3 times during my visit to Melbourne, because i simply like to enjoy baguette..Eventhough my hubby found there is nothing special on this baguette served at this cafe..After coming back home, i immediately prepare this baguette for a quick lunch..
Helena told me to drop by this little Hopetoun tea rooms if i have time during my visit to Melbourne Australia on last week. Actually I have plenty of time and in fact I went to this tea room 3 times...Due to long queue, i managed to take away a piece of cheese cake on my 3rd visit...
When i posted up the chicken and bacon puff rolls, few blogger friends suggested me to try this Pork and fennel pull rolls. They said this pork roll is good and tempted me to make this pork roll at home. This was 1st time I tried pork roll as we could not easily find pork related bakery items selling in the bakery shop here due to Halal issue..I would say this pork roll taste is as good as chicken roll.
I saw many Chinese bloggers made this homemade Tofufah (soft beancurd in syrup) last few weeks. As per how they described, this taste even better than those outside selling..After I tasted it and I could not stop making this Tofufah, simply silky smooth and yummy, hehehe..
