Marble Chocolate Cupcakes

This is a very quick, simple and delicious marble chocolate cupcakes, and you will probably find that you already have most of the ingredients needed to make them..feel free to try out.

Marble Chocolate Cupcakes


This was the 1st recipe which I adapted from a cupcakes recipe book given by Jane from Perth (Thank you very much to Jane) recently when she returned home for a short vacation. There are about 80 cupcakes recipe in this book, stay tuned for more cupcakes recipe from me!!

Marble Chocolate Cupcakes
*makes 12 muffin size

Ingredients
150g soft margarine (or replaced with butter )
150g caster sugar
3 eggs (medium)
200g self-raising flour
2tbsp milk

55g semisweet chocolate, melted (or replaced with cocoa powder)

Method
1. Using a handheld mixer, beat together margarine, sugar, eggs and flour until just smooth.
2. Divide the batter between 2 bowls. Add the melted chocolate to one bowl and stir until well mixed.
3. Using a teaspoon, and alternating the chocolate batter with the plain batter, fill ¾ full of paper case.
4. Bake the cupcakes in a pre-heated oven at 180c for 25mins, or until well risen and springy to the touch.
5. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool.

    I am sure it is very soft and puffy. I had made a marble loaf with all in method too, but too bad I forgot to copy the recipe before I return the book to library.

  28. Nice cupcakes, my mom used to bake me this when I was small but now she gotta work with my daddy so I got very less chance of eating this.. Perhaps someday I can cook back for my mom :) Thanks for sharing out the recipe ^^

    I'm new to baking, not sure how to cream butter with sugar for making tarts. Do we use our hand, wooden spoon or mixer for creaming?

  44. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe..I just baked them this afternoon. Its so easy to make and the texture is velvety! I reduced the sugar to 120g & the sweetness is just right for me. However, I have a problem with cupcakes..the papercups will drop out after they are cooled. Do you have this problem? Do u bake your cupcakes in the lower rack or middle rack?
