Whale watch, Gold Coast Australia

There are a number of whale watching cruise operators in Gold Coast but we decided to go with the one operated by Sea World because they provide better package price when we take Sea World fun park and Whale watch combo package.

This is supposed what we should see- Humpback Whales' tail..this is awesome right?

But we are not so lucky to get a closer look, they are too far and too fast appeared on the sea surface.

This is the only closer one that I could catched with the Humpback whale tail ....

No whales to watch, at least we can still enjoy the awesome view...

Anyway, we were lucky to spot whales appeared on the water surface while we walked along the Gold Coast beach...I still not able to catch the tail's photo, they are far and fast!

  1. Sonia, you don't say! I wouldn't know that the photo was taken from a poster. This does look like a wonderful outing for the family.

  11. What a shame that you didn't see whales up close.

The Sea World trip is usually really good and very convenient if you are staying in Surfers Paradise or near there.

If you go again, may I suggest you try the folks down at Coolangatta Whale Watch, it is a bit of a drive, but they are a family business and they really go out of their way to make the trips special. They have had an awesome season of whale watching this year, and on about 50% of their trips they are seeing dolphin pods too. Now is the time for mothers and calves (baby whales).

Sadly for Min (who commented above) April is not a time for whale watching, but there are lots of other things to do and see.

    Cheers

  14. Such a big dissappointement, right! I mean you don't fly over every now & then. If you can at least take one shoot that would be terrific and it's history, so memorable huh. And of coz, the kids are so happy to see the big ones too!

  15. Dear all, Thank you for stopping by.

Min, Like what Annie mentioned, Apr is not a good time to watch whale, as I know, they migrate from Sept to Nov every year only.

    Annie, Thanks for the info.

Kristy, not really dissapoinment, we saw but just not that up close.
