We only stayed one night at Venice (because too many places to visit ^_^). The next morning, we dropped the idea of travel to nearby island like Burano island (colourful painted houses) and Murano island ( famous of glass making). Instead we chosen to explore this beautiful island by foot.
The black arrow shown we walked from where we stayed (Piazza San Marco) to train station Santa Lucia, took us 1hour. My hubby just referring to a map and he seem has good sense of direction..We crossed many bridges and walked thru many small lanes..A nice way to see the real Venice..
Actually we woke up around 6am as we was thinking to see sunrise, unfortunately that morning was raining..Anyway we managed to see an empty of Piazza San Marco without a single tourist..
empty corridor..
no gondola and tourist
After we checked out the hotel, we have last walked at Piazza San Marco area..
We started our walk to train station. This is how they transport the goods. I advise you not to carry big luggage to explore this island..
road name is painted on the wall
This is Ponte di Rialto
we saw many shops along the walk, this is a sourvenir shop
Canal Grande
Biscuit and sweet shop, see the difference flavours of meringue..
a famous shop selling apron..
we continue our walked..
Finally we reached train station after 1hr of walk..
surrounding at train station
this was the speed train we boarded..
Nice and clean sitting
pass by a lot of vineyards
and we reached Florence or Firenze , another beautiful city, stay tuned for my next update..
