Five Happiness Nutty Mooncakes 五仁月饼
I have bookmarked this recipe from Helena's kitchen since last year, finally i have a chance to try out this year..No one in the family fancy this mooncake except me, so i bake into the smaller size and small quantity..At the same time, i also able to clear all the leftover nuts (example pistachio from CNY) and "gam gam" (just nice) i have only 5 types of nut left, so perfectly to match this 五仁 (five types of nut).

Launch of Imbi Palace Group Rebranding 皇宫海鲜酒家
Did you ever see a mountain of dried abalones before? I just seen it when i was invited to the launch of Imbi Palace Group Rebranding dinner. I was honoured to be invited as Palace restaurant is one of my favourite Chinese restaurant, I like to visit their branch at Klang, Klang Palace.
Earlier this year, they closed down their outlet on Jalan Imbi to make way for the development projects in the city. That was their first outlet, the place where it all started. Their management do not want Imbi Palace just gone this way and after some thought they decided to change their company name to Imbi Palace Group. So Imbi Palace Restaurant history and heritage will continue to live on in the company name. With the new name, a new logo now represents the restaurants. As with the previous logo, the corporate colour is Gold. Gold represents the gold standards adhere to in the food, in terms of taste and quality and service excellence. The Chinese calligraphy stroke in the new logo stands for culture, tradition and art.
Their restaurant specializes in Cantonese food with a wide range of 'live' seafood, HK dim sum and barbeque, Lanzhou 'la mien' and Cantonese porridge and noodles. The noodles are specially imported from Hong Kong to give an authentic taste.

Fresh Fig and Cranberries Butter Cake 无花果蔓越莓牛油蛋糕
Recently i found another pasar pagi (morning wet market) nearby for my daily marketing. This market have more stalls and more things to buy. I have never seen fresh figs 无花果 selling in this kind of pasar pagi before. I was so happy when i stumbled upon fresh figs selling in one of the fruits stall the other day. The owner of the shop told me that I was lucky enough to get these figs as this is the first time and also the last time for him to sell these figs as there are not many people seem to "appreciate" these fruit, hahaha..he even discounted few ringgits for me..so I bought 4 for RM 8 only..
Aiyah, i should have thrown some of the seeds in my backyard to see whether it grow or not..but i was totally forgotten!

Shanghai Mooncake 上海月饼
This year instead of making the famous Cheesy Shanghai mooncake, i made this normal Shanghai mooncake using custard and butter without cheese. This recipe was highly recommended by a customer i met when i was shopping at the usual bakery ingredients shop. She said this recipe was sharing by the owner of this shop few years ago and it was published in a Chinese newspaper. She is true, the crumbly buttery pastry, sweet red bean paste and salty taste from salted egg yolk, their taste just well blended together..and you will not feel too sweet to taste this mooncake.

Zespri Kiwifruit session at Bayan Indah KL
I was excited when i received an invitation to attend Zespri kiwifruit special session for bloggers and media . This is not my 1st time heard of Zespri brand. I read an article in a Chinese Newspaper last time and my hubby also mentioned about Zespri system to me earlier, I was amazed by How Zespri system works! The unique Zespri system ensures consistency in quality, traceability, food safety and ethical and sustainable business practices.
