This time i just use sweet potato only since i couldn't get good yam at that time.
Fried Nian Gao with sweet potatoes 番薯炸年糕For the batter125g plain flour10g cooking oil2tsp rice flour155g waterA pinch of salt30g sugar20 slices sweet potato 1cm10 slices Nian Gao 1cmMethod
- Steam sweet potato for about 10-15mins, almost tendered . Set aside to cool.
- Mix all ingredients for batter till smooth.
- Sandwich a slice of Nian Gao with sweet potatos. Coat it with batter.
- Deep fry in a wok over medium to low flame till golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm
