Do you have to chill the butter to harden it before you beat with the sugar?
Jean

Thanks.
Try this cookies...that's really nice....but couldn't cut in shape after an hrs from fridge...which ingredient need to add or increase if I wanna to cut in shape? Tx
I just tried this recipe. Really very nice. But I cannot pipe as nice as yours. Did u pipe double layer? Mine is very thin.
A lot of hard washing to do becoz of butter.
Hi, I have problem rolling them into balls. The batter is so sticky that they stick to my fingers. What could be the problem? Please help me because I am making them for CNY. Thanks and appreciate it!
Hi Teo, you have to pipe it out but not roll them .. Fill the dough into piping bag that filled with large tip.
Thank you for being prompt. I thought rolling them into balls are easier and faster and also, I am not good with piping. Anyway, thanks for coming to my help! Appreciate it!
Hi. Do u use salted or unsalted butter?
Phil, I use salted
Hi Sonia,
Thank you for the recipe. I have tried it and the cookies are very yummy...and they melted in the mouth! However, my cookies didn't hold their shape after baking...they flattened out. Did I overbeat the butter? Appreciate your advice!
Florence
Florence, try to bake at the lower rack and low temp 150-160 C. The temperature mentioned in my recipe was referring to my old convention cum microwave oven..it might not suite to the normal oven..
Thank u for your reply. Earlier, Without waiting for your reply, I tried with unsalted butter. The cookies were melt-in-the-mouth good. Will try it with salted butter to taste the difference.
Thank you, Sonia. Will definitely try again!
Happy Chinese New Year to you and your family!
Florence
Hi Sonia,
What nozzle tip did u used for d piping? Looks good n delicious. I want to make this for d CNY.
Happy CNY !!!
Thanks, addie
addie, i can't really recall this, but i think i used Star nozzle tip.
LOVE! this recipe, it's my absolute favourite, thank you sooo much
Okthanksbyee :-)
Cornflour = cornstarch?
I tried the recipe.
It was so good that my kids finished everything after the cookies cool. Thumbs up.
May I know which brand butter is recommended? I'm new in baking. Thanks!
I used SCS unsalted butter.
Will salted butter spoil the taste? Was wondering if a little salt wjll make it more tasty and addictive
Hi, just wanted to check if its possible to cut with cookie cutter if I am not good with nozzle
Hi Sonia,
Can I add an egg into the batter? Should I use more flour in order to adjust to the original consistency?
Vanessa, not advise to add egg.
Good day. May I know whether above cookies need to be stored in air tight container? Thanks
Can I use cookie press instead of piping ?
Can I use cookie press instead of piping ?
Sing Yee Fong, should be ok, you can try.
Is all purpose flour = plain flour??
--minty
Minty, yes
Hi Sonia, thanks for this easy recipe. I baked it last night and tonight. Love the melt in the mouth texture but tonight's batch was much fragile as it crushes if I am not gentle in holding the cookie. Do you know what is the reason? Does tenperature play a part as I lowered the temperature from 180 to 170 tonight.
Serene
Serene , no problem to lower temp to 170C, were you use cake flour this time ?
I used your recipe today but it turns out very bad, all piping shapes spread till flat and even I lowered the temp and baked at lower rack for the 2nd batch it still spread...is it because I used cake flour?? Or the hot weather does play a part??
Hi
Noob here
Just would like to ask when using mixer cream butter and sugar till fluffy or till creamy , is there a difference thanks
Hi any substitute for corn flour
Thanks
Hi, may I know which butter, salted or unsalted will make the cookies more melt-in-the-mouth texture? Also, which brand of butter do you recommend? Is Fairprice homebrand butter good?
