Chicken Curry Kapitan 甲必丹咖喱鸡
I learnt this Nyonya Curry from few Penang's aunties. This curry basically using all fresh herbs ingredients. And this curry has a hint of tangy taste as lime juices is added into this recipe. You may omit lime juices if you couldn't accept this taste but I love it!

Chinese style Braised Orange Duck 香橙焖鸭肉
This was one of the dish that i cooked during CNY, even brought to a family gathering. I just simply twisted from the French cuisine orange duck breast to this Chinese version. I am glad that it turned out good especially the gravy has a bit of tangy flavor from the oranges used.

Butter Chicken 印度牛油咖喱鸡
Butter chicken is a classic Indian cuisine. Recently I just saw this recipe in a new cookbook that I bought, immediately bookmarked to try it out. Frankly, even though this cuisine so called butter chicken, but the butter amount used is very minimal only.

Boxing Chicken 铁公鸡
Today I managed to find some time to cook this Boxing chicken. This Boxing chicken is just normal deep fry chicken wings, but the tricky part is you have to debone two parts of the chicken wings. Recently I learnt the Chinese name of this dish called as 铁公鸡 (
an iron cock) ^_^

Galangal (Blue Ginger) Chicken Curry 蓝姜咖喱鸡
Since LTU theme this month is Potato, so I have to rush to put up this recipe chicken curry, and curry must have potato then taste better. I got this idea to cook this chicken curry using blue ginger after tasted a nice chicken curry from a Hainanese rice stall. Their chicken curry has a special aroma, after few times trying, then I confirmed that special aroma was from blue ginger. And this chicken curry is much healthy without putting coconut milk, but yet the curry sauce still taste creamy and thick, and yummy too.

Bandit Chicken Wings 土匪雞翼
From a TV food show, I learnt that this 土匪雞翼 (direct translate become Bandit Chicken Wings) is very famous now in Hong Kong. This roasted chicken wings using one of the most important ingredient in the recipe is Cumin powder 孜然粉.
I don't know why this roasted chicken wings named as Bandit chicken wings , but according to here, those bandit robbers not only robbed luxury items but also household spices. The local people who stayed a few miles away can smell the nice aroma of the wings when the bandit robbers used the spices to roast chicken wings. Thus they would know those bandits were not far from them and they could take precautions of those bandits.

So it was a super busy day by preparing 2 roasted chickens, mushroom soup, crab meat salad with Miso and carrot dressing, Italian focaccia, tomato spaghetti and also made two heart shape chiffon cakes (you can view these pictures in my Instagram account). I worked like a maid on this romantic Valentine's day !! Anyway I was happy to see all enjoyed the foods that I have prepared.

Hong Kong Style Swiss Chicken Wings 瑞士汁雞翼
Hong Kong Style Swiss chicken wings 瑞士汁雞翼 is a popular dish in Hong Kong but I missed to try out this dish during my visit to Hong Kong last time. Anyway, I tried out this dish the other day, it was succulent and delicious (enjoy it while hot, when turned cooled, it tasted hard ). This dish name called 瑞士汁雞翼 not because it came from Switzerland (瑞士 in Chinese). According to here, In 1860, there’s a HK style Western restaurant called Tai Ping Koon Restaurant (太平館餐廳). The founder invented a sweet soy type of wings. A tourist tried it and adored it. He asked the waiter about the name of the dish. The waiter’s reply was “Sweet Wings…”. Due to confusion of Chinglish, the tourist mistaken it as “Swiss Wings”. Therefore, the funny name has since lasted until the modern days.

Hainanese Chicken Chop 海南雞扒
From what I know, Hainanese chicken chop was invented by Hainanese people who worked for the English people during the British colonisation era. Hainanese people put Eastern touch to this Western cuisine, like example marinate chicken meat with soy sauce & etc. My version of Hainanese chicken chop was inspired by a very old restaurant located at Port Klang where they served good Hainanese chicken chop, roti bakar, Hailam mee and etc.
