These few weeks weather here is so hot and humid, "tak boleh tahan" the heat..We need a lot of cool drinks and cool jelly to cool us down.. When i saw this recipe in Rachel aka 温馨小厨 blog, i immediately make it!
My children love this jelly very much...I should have make more..
Orange Agar-Agar Jelly
(recipe source: inspired by Rachel aka 温馨小厨 who adapted from 苏联妈妈with minor changes)
*makes 5
400ml pure orange juices (from 4 oranges) or mix with store-bought orange juices50g rock sugar, depend on the sourness of the oranges, adjust accordinglyMethod1. Cut the orange to half. Extract the juice using a manual juice extractor, drained.3. Mix agar-agar powder, orange juices and rock sugar in a saucepan.4. Bring to boil till rock sugar dissolved, drained. Cool the mixture slightly.5. Pour into the reserved orange “shells”.6. Chill in the refrigerator for several hours till cool and set. Serve chilled.

I'm 2nd today! Bookmark this recipe now! I made almond pudding in papaya b4 using Jane's recipe but hasn't posted yet!I picked some fresh oranges from friend's house last weekend & there are still a lot sitting in my fridge,will use them to make!
Great idea for warm weather!! I made a mandarin one last time, but I think orange would be nicer (and more economical too!). My Mum loves jelly and these are so much better than the packaged powders.

What an excellent idea to use the orange 'skin-shell' as moulds for jelly! Would the skin impart some flavour to the jelly?

I have started to play with agar this year and I love it. I usually make desserts which are less set than a jelly, but your jelly looks fabulous, especially the way you have served it. So creative!
