To make whipped cream from non-dairy whipping cream 植物性奶油

This is how i made the whipped cream using non-dairy whipping cream 植物性奶油. Whipped cream made from non-dairy whipping cream is suitable to make frosting for Birthday cake using sponge cake base (light and spongy cake) and that need to store inside the fridge. This cream will not turn hard after storing inside the fridge unlike buttercream.

To make whipped cream from non dairy whipping cream
(recipe source: by Sonia aka Nasi Lemak Lover)

1. Remove non dairy whipping cream from freezer (store in the freezer for all the time).

2. Weight the dairy whipping cream and place in a mixing bowl, let stand at room temperature for 5-10mins.

3. Beat over high speed (hand mixer at speed 4) for 1min, it started become creamy. **do not need to place over a bowl of ice cold water..

Here are three brands of non-dairy cream that i have seen in the bakery ingredient shop. They always store this non-dairy cream in a freezer..Thus, if you have leftover cream, store in the freezer for all time.

Hi Sonia, I like to use non-dairy whipping cream for frosting my cakes. You can also try to place the bowl of whipping cream together with the whisk iside the fridge for 10-15 mins and then bring out and beat immediately :)

hai..nak tanya..apa perbezaan non-dairy whipping cream dgn whipping cream sahaja??? tq.

Sonia ~ Nasi Lemak Lover said...

anonymous,non-dairy whipping cream or fresh cream is made from vegetable oil like palm oil whereas whipping cream or dairy whipping cream is made from dairy milk. Non-dairy cream or fresh cream is suitable to use it to decorate a sponge cake especially Birthday cake and must store in the fridge for all time.

I once used Value Pride and I managed to whip up the cream to 'stiff'. So I quickly spread on my cake, and tried to squeeze some decorations on top. But these did not last long, slowly it become flatter on the cake! Please advise, thank you

Sonia ~ Nasi Lemak Lover said...

Chunli, I am not sure how long it can be kept, so long it didn't turned bad, I think it is still alright to use.

Katie, try to work decoration when weather is not too hot. I suspect the heat from your hands caused the cream to loosen its stiffness while you pipe the decoration. Next time you can store the piping bag filled with cream inside the fridge for maybe 30mins before you start to pipe.

Hey sonia, I've been attempting black forest cake for a few times and it always fail because my whip cream melts away very quickly. I've tried adding gelatin but it still melts away pretty quickly in comparison to normal buttercream. The cake will need to last a journey of 2-3 hours. Any tips? Thanks!
