Cuttlefish Nasi Lemak

Nasi Lemak again !! This time I cooked cuttlefish sambal, the cuttlefish was prepared by my mother . She use the dried cuttlefish and soak it overnight, unlike the cuttlefish sell outside which they add some kind of chemical to speed up soak time. And I like to add some water spinach "kangkung" to my nasi lemak...

Oh my...I am drooling!!! The addition of kangkung is a typical Melaka-style nasi lemak too. I had nasi lemak copuntless times in KL but never came across any with kangkung. I was back in Melaka over the weekend and we actually "tapau" back 2 packs of nasi lemak fr the famous stall there all the way to S'pore!! Looking at yrs, I'm STILL craving for more nasi lemaks! Love the cuttlefish & kangkung!!

Hi Sonia, was at Cindy's place about to check out noticed your name. Slammed my brakes and did a U turn over.
Knew a girl by that name once and thought...?
No, wrong number, but glad I busybody over.

Wow! Women like you don't grow on trees....as well under different circumstances very dangerous to the unattached male species.
That's how I lost my Bachelor's degree and a lady gained her Masters.

And there's nothing more spectacular on this planet than a beautiful mother with the lovely name of 'Sonia' cooking for her loved ones.
Anymore of that nasi lemak left? Will go well with iced coffee, ha ha.

You have a nice day and keep a song in your heart, best regards, Lee.

Mia, very easy, check out my basic sambal recipe here: http://nasilemaklover.blogspot.com/2009/04/nasi-lemak-lover-special-edition.html, then you just add in a lot of Big onion slices and cuttlefish.

Hi Sonia, ok, for the best nasi lemak in Melaka (in my humble opinion), you got to go to Jalan Ujong Pasir (not very far fr Mahkota Parade shopping mall, maybe 7-10 mins drive if traffic is smooth). The stall is run by a Malay family. It is a cart in a corner shabby-looking coffee shop which faces the main lane that leads you into the popular Portuguese settlement in Malacca. As long as you get directions to this settlement, you'll be able to find it. They start biz at ard 6.30pm. Always crowded. Let me know when you have tried it. You won't regret it for sure. They have many variety of added dishes and sambal - cockles, cuttlefish, chicken etc etc. I wanted to do a food review post last 2 weeks but I forgot to take my camera along with me to Malacca.

Earlier my husband also told he found a good nasi lemak in Melaka, maybe is the same store, let me check with him. If my trip come true ( still consider whether to go or not,in view of the H1N1), I will definitely take a lot of photos and share in my blog. Thanks for the detail guide.
