There is no table and chair provided, so we choose to sit in the coffee shop just opposite the Char Koay Teow stall, and be prepared to wait for at least half an hour (we waited for 45mins !!). See this picture you know how tiring to wait for a plate of yummy Char Koay Teow, hehehe..

This stall is running by this old man and helping by his son who is in charge of taking order and deliver the order to customers.

Sorry, i was wrongly focus this picture, hehehe..Anyway, this was the best Char Koay Teow i have ever had, it was stir fried till perfection and full of "wok hei" !! I just love this simple Char Koay Teow with a lot of lard, "si ham" (cockles), egg, bean sprouts and "ku chai" (Chinese chives)...and also appreciate the way how they prepare this noodle by cooking with charcoal..

Sonia, in Taiping (my hometown) also got one famous charcoal char koay teow and the waiting time is almost the same for this one in penang. I usually waited min an hour. This famous CKT in Taiping also featured in Axian Food Adventure in ASTRO AEC together with this CKT in Penang.

I'm from Penang. I frequent this Char Koay Teow stall quite often because it's near my office. This old man has been in this business for many many years. He also has another brother doing the same business near my home. I guess I'm lucky to be living in Penang known as the hawker food haven. But frankly speaking, I still prefer my own cooking. How much hawker food can one eat every day? Healthy home cooked food is still the best, isn't it?

Happy New Year to you and your family!

That was where I used to eat my char koay teow when I was little (over 20+years ago.) It's a little bit oily but love it so much!
