Chocolate-Bottom Banana Square

Chocolate-Bottom Banana Square

This is another popular cake among bloggers...

Chocolate-Bottom Banana Square

Nothing will goes wrong when chocolate and banana added together, a very soft, moist and flavourful cake. When talk about the cake texture, i don't really appreciate it as I find it was too soft (Chinese better describe this -软绵绵), maybe due to i changed a bit of the recipe.

1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

2tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 cup chocolate chips

2. Sieve flour, baking soda and baking powder, add in salt and set aside.
3. In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
4. Drizzle in the eggs, vanilla/Rum and mashed bananas, beating thoroughly.

Same here I couldn't leave comment from yesterday noon time till this morning. Blogger comment system seems not stable recently.

You cake looks very yummy! Same like you actually I prefer more "sturctured" cake than those 软绵绵cake。

Perhaps you want to replace cake flour with plain flour? I find that sometimes using cake flour is not nessarily yield a nicer cake than normal plain flour. The low gluten may make the cake texture too "soggy".

I made another version of this using "muffin method", recipe can be found in my blog. You may want to give it a try.

Your cake looks yummy! If you do not like the very soft texture, try replacing cake flour with all-purpose flour. I usually use our local plain flour. Hope this helps.
So far, no problem with the blogger comments, not since two weeks ago!
Have a nice day!

There's no problem with me commenting on other's blogs.
I think plain flour might give you the texture, but then, bakes with banana and baking soda are always very soft.
