WOW..Wonderful meal! My grandma was a vietnamese Chinese, she used to fried rice and wrap with lettuce.
oohhh..last time i took all road side stalls and coffeeshops style only in hcm... didnt go restaurants .. the food looked sumptious la.. their speciality in viet is spring rolls, right? everywhere sure got ...

Hi... been busy lately with painting new house but not too busy to steal some time on learning your teow chew ducks! yum!!!!!!! I noticed vietnamese likes really strong flavours... that spring roll looks yum... they must have cook it with sugar cane... didnt they?

The thousand miles veggie, my family calls it egg flower (gai tan fah). You can occasionally find it in the wet markets at the stalls which also sells wild herbs. We like to cook it in a clear ikan bilis broth with some beaten eggs. It is supposed to be good for the eyesight.

Most local recommendations are usually good. I'm curious about that "Thousand Miles Vege", I have not seen that before. What does the taste and texture remind you of?
