Salted egg yolk, butter,  curry leaves and chili padi are perfect combo. Any recipe won't go wrong when using these ingredients.  When i saw my friend made this, what a brilliant idea, combine all these ingredients with cornflakes. These cornflakes are so addictive , crunchy, salty, sweet, curry aroma and a hint of spicy, so good !

When I saw this recipe in an old newspaper (I have a habit to collect nice recipes published in newspaper ), I know I have to make it . This recipe requires to use egg white, perfect for me where I have few containers of egg white still sitting in the fridge. This cookies similar like macaron which use meringue and almond, but the texture is very light and crispy, also less sweet than macaron as lemon is added, and the topping of almond flakes also gave extra aroma to this cookie.

My family learnt how to enjoy dried figs from a hiking member. He gave us some dates, dried figs and nuts in order to build up our stamina while hiking. We enjoyed taking those nuts especially the figs which has gummy texture and kids enjoyed the sweetness.
So, I try to create a recipe using dried figs to make some Chinese New Year cookies since my family appreciate the figs. I also added in some pumpkin seeds to make these cookies into nutritious cookies.

This batch of pineapple tarts just for warm up before CNY ^_^. This time I wanted to tried this type of Nyonya pineapple tarts (open tart) which my friend Jane made it long time ago. This Nyonya type is different from my melt in mouth pineapple tart which the tart case tasted slightly crunchy. And this recipe is using margarine instead of butter.

My family are big fan of chocolate. We bought many chocolate related products from London the other day. One of the snack caught my attention was the small cubes of brownies, it shape like chocolate cubes, but taste like brownie (of course taste like brownie, LOL)..After a week, all snacks have gone and my son keep asking me to buy more chocolate for him. After busy for about two weeks, I have almost done all the CNY cookies, still have two more cookies to go which I have to use up the leftover egg whites. Beside almond flakes crisp, another cookies is ice cream cookies(meringue cookies) which most of the small girls love it. By popular demand,  I have made 8 red canisters of pineapple tarts, this time I made into nastar shape which is easy and quick to handle, but I also try out a new shape- Golden Ingot which look golden and prosperous!
