Cinque Terre 五漁村 (Monterosso, Riomaggiore) , Italy 2013 意大利自由行

I didn't know Cinque Terre (CT) until I read Terri (A Daily Obsession) 's Italy travel post. And I know I must visit this beautiful fishing villages along the rugged coast of north-west Italy. What I planned was staying at Florence but make a day trip to CT. At the same time, we also can stop at Pisa since train to La Spezia Centrale also pass by Pisa.

Cinque Terre means "The Five Lands" is composed of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore

first we went to CT tourist information to get the details

2) Riomaggiore
At first, we were thinking to visit the last stop Monterosso, then follow the sequence come down to the next stop at Vernazza. But this was not the case, because we have to check the train availability also. When we finished visited Monterosso, the faster village to visit is Riomaggiore but not Vernazza. Anyway, it is ok not to follow the sequence, every train ride from one village to another village is very short distance, 5-10mins..And every train ride also pass through tunnel, a special experience of travel.
