Chinese style Braised Orange Duck 香橙焖鸭肉

This was one of the dish that i cooked during CNY, even brought to a family gathering. I just simply twisted from the French cuisine orange duck breast to this Chinese version. I am glad that it turned out good especially the gravy has a bit of tangy flavor from the oranges used.

Sweet and Sour Pork 咕嚕肉

Gu Lao Rou a.k.a Sweet and sour Pork a classic Chinese dish. Every Chinese mother have their own version. This is my version of sweet and sour pork. Personally i prefer to use pork belly for this dish, more tender and nice taste of fat after deep fried, yum yum. Also try not to omit pineapple in this recipe too, it give fruity sweet and add colour to this dish.

This pineapple tart is still using the same old recipe, my best melt-in-mouth pineapple tarts. But this time i changed from sweetened creamer to real stuff -F&N full cream condensed milk . Also shape them like a pineapple fruit.

My first ever traditional Kuih Kapit a.k.a Love Letters. I am not sure how many of you willing to try out this traditional Kuih Kapit which bake over charcoal grill, as it was really not easy task. Whenever i have some good yam, sure use it to make a good steamed savoury yam cake. This time i made slight changes from the usual yam cake since CNY is approaching (  讨个好意头), added Chinese sausages or Lap Cheong and mushroom, similar like Hong Kong style of Lo Pa Gao aka radish cake.

Egg White Plain Loaf Bread 蛋白土司

The other day one reader left a comment in a very old post (way back 2009), said everyone should try this very soft bread. This is a bread recipe that i have totally forgotten. After i re-check back the recipe, and realized that this recipe is using egg white. Since that day i have leftover egg white, so i go ahead to modify this old recipe into plain loaf bread.
