Personally I prefer Jane's butter cake recipe, not too oily, not too sweet and moist. I adapted Jane's coffee butter cake recipe but replaced coffee with cocoa, and reduce sugar. Thanks Jane !!

cocoa powder - may i know if you use the dutch processed or natural unsweetened.
i tried to bake this cake, however, my cocoa portion cant stay on top, it will mixed with the butter portion... can u help me? also, middle of my cake will drop... may i knw wat is the reason?
Eunice, I suspect your cake batter must be quite runny , and caused these two problems. I hope you try again and follow exactly the ingredients and measurements, let me know the outcome.
Sonia,
This recipe is same with the old fashioned butter cake, only the different is the cocoa part rite? I tried the old fashioned butter cake, very nice and soft. Thanks for the recipe
Hi, I have followed your recipe of 3tbsp cocoa powder and 1/2 tsp coffee powder mix with 3 tbsp hot water...it became a lump and when I add to batter to mix, it can't mix well. Small particles like choco chips still hanging around in the choco batter. suggest no need add water at all...throw in cocoa powder and coffee powder and mix well will do, can?
hi sonia,
