Lunch at Arashiyama 岚山, Togetsukyo Bridge 游渡月桥, Kyoto Japan

Once we came out from Kitano Tenmangu shrine, we checked through the map and realized that the next destination Arashiyama was located quite far from here, and it seem we have to change few buses to get there. In order not to waste our value last day in Kyoto, we decided to catch a cab to go there. Soon we arrived, we went for lunch first before heading to Bamboo forest of Sagano 嵯峨野竹林.

We had our lunch at this restaurant

My husband ordered this Tonkatsu Don with eggs topping, he said this was tasty especially the smooth and silky egg.

I ordered a Tonkatsu set, nice also ...and my 1st time tasted tonkatsu sauce (see the small bowl of black sauce) , love it. Bought a bottle when returned..

After lunch, first we went to Bamboo forest of Sagano 嵯峨野竹林. We have a long wolk inside the forest, and we came out to this river and Togetsukyo bridge..see the sky, luckily it did not rain during our walked...

Looking at your photos makes me want to drop everything here and fly to Japan this instant! hehe. I love all the snacks in Japan - couldn't get enough of their mochi when I went! Especially the ones with sweet potato inside...yummm...

Sonia, those mochi is made from fresh cooked glutinous rice and then pounded till smooth. Is it ? Cause I could still see the rough rice base. Normally, they used steamed special glutinous flour & then pound it. We all know Japan has all the unique food & always looks so neat & pretty.
