On our last day in Osaka, we decided to visit Nara park instead of Kobe. At first we were thinking to try the most expensive Kobe beef in Kobe, but last minutes dropped the idea since we have never seen a park that has hundreds of freely roaming deer.
We took about 45mins from Osaka to Nara by JR train. Then we took bus from the train station to Nara Park. This is the bus route map..
The first sight soon we entered this park, many deers just freely walking around..excited to see so many deers..the name of deers here is Sika deer, you can read more details here
A lady feeding deers with special biscuits bought from this park..
they will chasing you when they see you holding biscuits on hand..
This lady was chasing by few deers for biscuits, hahaha..
you can get special biscuits from this kind of stall
you can even gentlely touch the deers here..
Entrance to the temple
these wood craft statue are huge!
The view of this temple was stunning!!
Pray for good fortune
inside the temple
Kid had fun passing through the small hole from this big pillar..believed for good fortune too..
try hard to squeeze out his body..^_^
finally out..
All laughed at this boy when he need helped from his friend to pull him out, hahaha..
Binzuru wood (wood craft statue ), it is commonly believed in Japan when a person rubs a part of the image of Binzuru and then rubs the corresponding part of this own body, his ailment there will disapear..Of course, we rubs too , hehehe..

Those deer are so pretty. It amazes me how different the deer are from each country. Take care Diane

Wow, you have been working hard my friend! Even when u are away for vacation! Love the photos! Thanks sharing all these with us, made us much wiser in choosing the places to visit when we go Japan next time. :))
Wow, that is a hug & beautiful ancient temple. The structure is awesome. Japanese is actually a Buddhist too but don't know why there are other funny funny prayers for example praying a black box. Other than that visiting the park is so much fun & exciting. You've taken so many gorgeous pictures. Love them.
Enjoy your vacation, dear.
Kristy

This brings back so many memories! I was like one of those school kids before. :) We went to Nara for 6th grade trip and I was chased by deer too!! Nara is a little far from Osaka and I rarely get to visit, so it was fun seeing your photos and seeing some familiar places again.
